Message From The Director

In our Near East University Health Services Vocational School (SHMYO), besides the qualified teaching staff; By arranging our education and training programs with the cooperation of the Faculties of Medicine, Health Sciences, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Engineering and Education, qualified health personnel who are preferred in the areas needed with the infrastructure facilities of our full-fledged hospital, polyclinics and laboratories, and who are aware that education is continuous. We aim to train technicians.

In providing a modern and quality health service, a well-equipped hospital, trained and experienced physician staff, is one of the sine qua non of qualified assistant health personnel. With the opening of the Faculty of Medicine, which was opened for the first time in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in 2008, and the Near East University Hospital, which was opened in parallel with the international award in 2010, as the next step of the mission to reach high standards in every subject, Health Services Services was established in 2011 with the aim of training qualified health technicians. Our Vocational School has started its education and training life. Our education process, which we started in 2011 with 34 students from two departments in our Vocational School of Health Services, continues today with 964 students from 23 departments. In the 2018-2019 academic year, it continues to provide education in 25 associate degree programs with the participation of 2 new departments in English.

Our students do an average of 17,500 hours of theoretical and 4,000 hours of practical practice during their 2-year education period, as well as a 30-day professional summer internship during the summer period. Apart from the facilities of the NEU Hospital and the polyclinic in all cities of the TRNC, our students also have the opportunity to benefit from the facilities of University Hospitals and Public Training and Research Hospitals throughout Turkey for both term practice and summer internship.

The quality of the education offered to our students, in addition to allowing our students to transfer vertically to the Faculties of Health Sciences, was established by the Council of Higher Education on June 09, 2017 with the “CHANGE BETWEEN ASSOCIATE AND UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS, DOUBLE MAJOR, SIDE-BRANCH ELECTRICITY EDUCATIONAL EDUCATIONAL EDUCATIONAL CREDIT NETWORKS With the double major program, it is possible to graduate from other departments of SHMYO and have 2 diplomas.
